Great trekking around Dove Lake and journey to Cradle Mountain. Such an excellent and informative host - thankyou Joy for joining us in our trek around the lake.

Best regards,

We took the 3.5hr walk around Dove Lake, the views were breathtakingly beautiful and serene. We stopped midway for a little picnic by the lake.
I loved how she was also really patient with my Daughter, answering her many curious questions along the way! Their chats covered topics from quoll & wombat poop, to her experiences working with Tasmanian Devils, to red & blue... fungi!
We had a marvellous time and we highly recommend Joy's Tassie Tours! You will find that Joy has such a friendly and warm personality. She is a very careful and safe driver. We can't wait to plan another trip to Tasmania and look for Joy again! Perhaps the next time round, we will get to see the glow worms and Bay of Fires with her!’
Joy first came to Tasmania in 2005 as a volunteer on the Devil program at Freycinet, focused on investigating the facial tumour disease that has decimated the local Devil population over the last decade. Joy returned to the Devil program later that year, this time at Mount William National Park in the North East where the Devil tumour disease is believed to have originated.
After completed her work in this program Joy returned back to Melbourne, however it was not long until she was drawn back to Tasmania. She undertook various hikes and explorative activities for the pure simple pleasure of the magnificent landscape including Pine Valley, Cradle Mountain and the rugged South Coast Track.
It was at this point that Joy could no longer deny that she had become infatuated with Tasmania and all it had to offer and moved her life down to Tasmania to pursue further endeavours in this beautiful state.
After completing what was to become a life changing move, Joy proceeded to introduce a branch of a successful ecological survey company to the state and continued to run the Tasmanian branch for several years. At the culmination of this period Joy began as an Eco-Tour guide at Saffire Freycinet one of the finer escapes Tasmania has hidden away; it was this experience of which helped form and shape the idea to bring Joys Tassie Tours to life.
Joy is now the owner-operator of Joys Tassie Tours which runs out of Deloraine, Tasmania. An area ideally located between Launceston and Devonport giving her a short trip to either of these major northern Tasmania population centres.
